The name of this website, “This Is For Love,” comes from the song Try Again by Miranda Dodson. The song is a raw, gut wrenching, beautiful and intimate glimpse into the artist’s experience of loss though miscarriage. “Should we leap in faith?” She asks, “Or stand in vain? Hold our breath and pray…and try again?” But by the end of the song you know she will, she will try again and you know why, “this is for love,” she sings, “this is for love that we try, that we pray.”
There is another kind of loss, the loss of family. An orphan experiences loss like a miscarriage, a disruption from the way things were meant to be. Why do you want to adopt? We know the question will come often, I have asked it of myself many times already. But my answer is ready: This is for love. It is because of the love we already hold in our hearts for this child that we pursue him or her. And it is because of a love far greater, the love of Him who adopted me, adopted my husband as we were running away from him. “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ-by great you have been saved.” Ephesians 2:4,5 ESV
So we invite you to join us, pray with us as we begin this journey to bring our child home. To give a family to one who has lost family, and to give love and show the love of Him who promises to never leave us as orphans, but comes for us.
“For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died, and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.” 2 Corinthians 5:14,15 ESV
